(Baltimore, MD, August 25, 2020) The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB) which serves as the authorized training, credentialing and accreditation ecosystem announced today that it has approved 73 Provisional Assessors who, after completing CMMC-AB training, will be prepared to conduct assessments during the provisional period and will provide feedback and retrospective information with the AB following each assessment. The 73 provisional assessor candidates, 82% of which were selected randomly from a pool of more than 500 assessor applicants, each of whom opted-in for consideration based on pre-requisites, domain expertise, and industry experience.
The first training is slated for August 31!
The goal of this CMMC-AB initiative program is to create a strong and diverse pool of Provisional Assessors to provide the CMMC-AB, the subjects of the pilots, the pathfinders and DoD valuable feedback about their experience with the assessment process.
The CMMC-AB has been working with the DoD and hundreds of members of the Defense Industrial Base to deploy a CMMC assessment ecosystem that will enhance the security of the nation's supply chain. “It’s time to get Assessors into the field and test the process. The Provisional Program is designed to do just that,” said CMMC-AB Board Chair, Ty Schieber.
The training is a 4-day combination of live and self-paced training, followed by an exam. Following certification, the Provisional Assessors will be available to be engaged as part of CMMC Third Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) teams to implement CMMC Pilots and Pathfinders. They will represent provisional qualification through a verifiable logo and listing on the CMMC-AB marketplace on CMMC-AB.org.
